What We Do

Most hotel searches start from the wrong end: a city, a list, a price. But nobody is "in Austin." They have a 6am flight, a ship to board at noon, a relative in the hospital, a show at the arena. The right cheap hotel depends on which one.

So we start from the place. Pick the airport, the cruise terminal, the hospital or the venue, say how far you're willing to be, and set your own ceiling. We show what's actually available for your dates, and how far it really is.

How It Works

1. Live rates for your dates. Nightly rates come from our booking partner for the dates you choose, and every rate carries the time we checked it. They are shown before tax and before any charge the hotel adds at checkout — we say so on every card rather than pretend otherwise.
2. Real distances. Walking and driving times are measured from each hotel's coordinates to the landmark, with a detour allowance for real streets. They are estimates, and labelled as "about", not turn-by-turn routing.
3. Researched logistics. For situations where the details decide it — an early flight, the night before a cruise, a week near a hospital — we research shuttle hours, parking terms and front-desk hours, date them, and phrase them as what to confirm with the hotel rather than as promises.

What We Don't Do

We don't claim an all-in price. Taxes and any resort or facility fee are set by the hotel and added at checkout, and we would rather show a clear pre-tax rate than an estimate dressed up as a total. Where a city is known for resort fees, the page says so.

We don't write glowing reviews. Guest scores come from the booking partner's own reviews; our verdicts are arithmetic on them, and a hotel we haven't inspected says so.

Business Model

MyBudgetHotel is free to use. We earn a small commission when you book through our links, at no extra cost to you.

We are not owned by any hotel chain or booking platform, and no hotel pays to be listed. Ordering is by price, distance and guest score — a commission never changes where a hotel appears.
