Hotels with a kitchen for a week-long stay in Dallas

Verification pending — confirm directly with the hotel

1The situation

A week in Dallas — a work assignment, a hospital stay, a training course, a slow relocation — changes the maths. Eating out three times a day for seven days costs more than the room, and a real kitchen with an H-E-B or Kroger nearby fixes that. The problem is that 'kitchenette' covers everything from a two-burner cooktop with a full fridge and dishwasher to a bar fridge and a microwave on a shelf. Dallas has extended-stay properties in every corridor and the prices are genuinely low: the airport strips start around $47-63 for a studio with a kitchen. What you give up at that end is desk hours, housekeeping and any sense of a hotel. Decide which of those you actually need before you choose on price alone.

2What you actually need

  1. A real kitchen: cooktop, full-size fridge, ideally a dishwasher

Candlewood and the Marriott extended-stay brands have a cooktop and full fridge; some cheaper studios have a fridge and microwave only. Decide whether you will cook or just reheat, and ask which you are getting — the photos rarely make it clear.

  2. The 7-night rate, asked for explicitly

Most extended-stay brands have breakpoints at 7 nights and again around 30. The weekly rate often works out 15-30% under seven times the nightly one, and it is frequently not shown on booking sites. Call the property or book direct and ask.

  3. Laundry on site and a supermarket within a short drive

Free guest laundry is standard at Candlewood, TownePlace, Element and the budget studio brands, and saves packing a week of clothes. A supermarket within five minutes turns the kitchen from a feature into a saving.

  4. A clear housekeeping cadence

Extended-stay hotels usually clean weekly, not daily, on stays over a few nights. That is fine if you expect it — ask how to get fresh towels mid-week and whether daily service costs extra.

  5. Texas hotel tax after 30 nights

Texas exempts stays of 30 consecutive nights or more from state hotel occupancy tax, and local tax may drop too. If you are close to a month, ask the hotel how they handle it — the saving is real and they will not volunteer it.

3The shortlist6 hotels, cheapest first

Each hotel is here because it meets the requirements above — not because of its star rating. Prices are nightly rates before tax for the default dates; volatile facts (shuttles, parking terms) are stated as what to confirm, not as promises.

1.HomeTowne Studios By Red Roof Dallas - North Addison/ Tollway

9.9 mi from Dallas Love Field · 17425 Dallas Parkway, Dallas, 75287

HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof2-starRenovated 2018
6.6/1090

The lowest weekly number in Dallas on the rates we found, with a kitchenette and free laundry. Set expectations accordingly: this is a budget weekly-stay brand, not a hotel, and the desk is not staffed around the clock. Ask for the 7-night and 30-night rates, which is where the brand is priced to win.

2.Studio 6 Dallas, TX - Northwest

2.5 mi from Dallas Love Field · 2395 STEMMONS TRAIL, Dallas, 75220

Studio 62-star
8.4/1047

A kitchenette, free laundry and weekly rates as the brand's whole proposition — a listing for this property quotes about $434 a week against $69 a night. Note that pets are not free here: Studio 6 charges $10 a night to a $75 per-stay cap, unlike Motel 6.

3.Extended Stay America Suites - Dallas - Greenville Avenue

7.7 mi from Dallas Love Field · 12270 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243

Extended Stay2-star
7.5/10544

A full kitchen and free parking from around $54, with the brand's usual weekly rate breakpoints. Two things to confirm: the housekeeping cadence, which is weekly rather than daily on longer stays, and what the included breakfast actually is — it is closer to coffee and a cereal bar than a buffet.

4Practical logistics

Extended-stay clusters
Stemmons Freeway and Market Center near Love Field and the Medical District; the Las Colinas and Esters Boulevard belt near DFW; and North Dallas along the Tollway and US-75. Downtown has very few true extended-stay hotels and they are priced for business travellers.
Weekly rates
Typically 15-30% below the equivalent seven nightly rates, with another step at around 30 nights. Not always shown online — ask the property directly. Rates change; confirm before booking.
Groceries
Kroger and Tom Thumb are the main chains, with a Walmart Supercenter near most of these corridors. Nothing is walkable from a freeway frontage road — assume you are driving.
Hotel occupancy tax
Texas exempts stays of 30 consecutive nights or more from state hotel tax, and local tax may also drop — a meaningful saving if you are close to a month. Confirm with the hotel how they apply it.
What the cheap end gives up
Below about $60 a night you are in weekly-stay brands rather than hotels: limited desk hours, weekly housekeeping, no breakfast and variable upkeep. That is a fair trade for a month; it is a poor one for four nights.

Prices and schedules change. Treat figures as ranges and check before booking.

5What to avoid

  • Comparing nightly rates. A $79 nightly room loses to a $95 hotel's weekly rate after five nights — always ask for the 7-night price before deciding.
  • Trusting the word 'kitchenette'. Confirm whether the room has a cooktop; if it is a fridge and microwave, plan to reheat rather than cook, and price accordingly.
  • Assuming daily housekeeping. Most long-stay properties clean weekly; if you want daily service, ask what it costs.
  • Booking 30 nights without asking about the Texas hotel-tax exemption. Past 30 consecutive nights the state tax should come off.

6Book

Use the rate links on each hotel above. If a hotel's value depends on a named package (park & cruise, shuttle), confirm the package with the hotel before you pay — packages are usually direct-booking rate codes, not OTA rooms.
