Quick Take
International Drive
Orlando's main tourist strip — 10 miles of hotels, restaurants, and attractions. The most convenient and affordable base for visitors hitting multiple parks or attending conventions. South I-Drive has the best budget options.
Kissimmee / Disney Area
The budget hotel corridor along US-192, stretching east from Walt Disney World. The closest affordable area to Disney parks, with dozens of budget chains and independent hotels.
Airport / Semoran Blvd
The hotel cluster around Orlando International Airport (MCO): the Hyatt Regency inside the main terminal, then a ring of chain hotels along Semoran Blvd (SR-436), Augusta National Dr, T.G. Lee Blvd and McCoy Rd, 5-10 minutes from the terminal loop. Almost every property here runs an airport shuttle, and several sell park-sleep-fly packages. It is also where many Port Canaveral cruisers overnight before the 45-60 minute drive to the ship.
Downtown / SoDo
Downtown Orlando and the 'SoDo' (South of Downtown) district along Orange Avenue, home to the Orlando Health campus: Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC), Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies. Hotels here are business and medical-visit properties, not theme-park motels: nothing under $100 and most charge for parking, but you are 5-10 minutes from the hospital at any hour.
