Driving 45 minutes to Kissimmee or the I-Drive strip, or 45-60 minutes to Port Canaveral for a morning cruise, is the wrong move at that hour. An airport hotel solves it only if three things are true: the desk is open, your room is still held, and there is a shuttle or a short rideshare to get you there. The failure mode is the limited-service hotel whose shuttle is 'on request' after 11pm — from a phone nobody answers.

Limited-service hotels around the airport are not all staffed overnight. Ask the hotel directly; 'check-in until midnight' on a listing can mean exactly that.
A guaranteed late arrival
Unless the booking is guaranteed to your card, a room can be released after a cut-off. Book a guaranteed rate and, if your flight is scheduled late, say so in the reservation notes.
A shuttle that runs after midnight, or a rideshare you are happy to pay
Some shuttles run 24 hours on a loop; some stop at 11pm or midnight; some are on request overnight. Get the pickup phone number in your confirmation and the plan B: a $12-25 rideshare from the ground level is a fine plan B, if you know it in advance.
Food at 1am
The Semoran cluster is not walkable and most restaurants are closed. Full-service hotels have a bar or room service; otherwise eat in the terminal before you leave it.

Sourced 2026 rates: the **North Park Place and South Park Place economy lots are $10 a day** with free continuous shuttles to Terminals A, B and C — the cheapest on-airport option, about $80 for an eight-day trip. **Garages A and B are $19 a day** and **Garage C is $17**, so a week in a garage is roughly $150. Rates change; check the airport's parking page before booking.
Port Canaveral cruisers
The port is 45-60 minutes east. Landing late and overnighting at MCO before a morning drive or transfer is the common pattern; the hotel does not need to be a cruise hotel for this, just open when you land.
