Hotels near the Baltimore cruise terminal with free cruise parking

Verification pending — confirm directly with the hotel

1The situation

You're driving to Baltimore, sailing for a week, and the car has to go somewhere. The number that matters has moved: the Cruise Maryland Terminal lot is now **$25 a night**, effective 1 April 2026, so a 7-night cruise is about **$200** rather than the $100-140 this page previously assumed. That makes the BWI hotel packages meaningfully better value than they looked. It also makes the transfer worth checking, because in Baltimore the cruise-port run is usually a paid extra rather than part of the deal — the Clarion charges $20 a room and will not run later than 4pm, the Country Inn arranges it for a fee, and at least one hotel on this strip appears to have stopped running a shuttle altogether. Confirm the ride before you book the room.

2What you actually need

  1. Parking for the full cruise, not just your overnight

Every suburban Baltimore hotel has free guest parking. Almost none of them let you leave the car for 8 days unless you book a named cruise package. Ask for 'park and cruise' or 'cruise parking' by name and get the number of days in writing.

  2. A shuttle or a priced ride to South Locust Point

The hotels that hold cars are 10-12 miles away near BWI. A rideshare with luggage runs $25-40 each way, which eats most of the parking saving if the package doesn't include a shuttle.

  3. The return leg, in writing

Disembarkation at Baltimore is early morning and the terminal apron clears fast. Know whether the hotel shuttle picks you up, where it waits, and what number to call — or plan a rideshare back to the car.

  4. Where the car actually sits for the week

Some hotels put cruise cars in an overflow area or a partner lot. Ask whether it's on-site, fenced and lit, and whether you hand over keys.

3The shortlist5 hotels, cheapest first

Each hotel is here because it meets the requirements above — not because of its star rating. Prices are nightly rates before tax for the default dates; volatile facts (shuttles, parking terms) are stated as what to confirm, not as promises.

Free overnight guest parking at the lowest rate on the strip, and the Port of Baltimore is under nine miles away — but no cruise-length parking product could be sourced. Ask explicitly whether the car can stay for the sailing; if not, the terminal lot at $25 a night is the fallback.

Parking
Free for guests; lot accessible 24/7. No cruise-length product found — confirm directly.
Shuttle
Disputed: one source says the hotel shuttle ceased on 1 October 2025; others list a free BWI/Amtrak/light-rail shuttle Mon-Fri 4am-1am and Sat 5am-midnight. No cruise-terminal shuttle found. Confirm directly and plan on a $25-40 rideshare.

4Practical logistics

Cruise Maryland Terminal parking
**$25.00 per night** for passenger vehicles and SUVs — up from previous seasons, with the increase effective 1 April 2026 — so a 7-night cruise is about **$200**, not the $100-140 this page used to say. Recreational vehicles are $40.00 a night under 30 feet and $50.00 over. No advance reservations are required for the secured long-term lots, which are within walking distance of the terminal, and rates are payable on arrival **by credit card: VISA, MasterCard and Discover only — American Express is not listed**. Accessible parking is available on site. Confirm at cruise.maryland.gov.
Where the car-holding hotels are
The BWI airport cluster in Linthicum and the Arundel Mills / I-95 corridor — about 9-13 miles and 15-25 minutes from the terminal. Note the Linthicum strip has changed hands repeatedly: 829 Elkridge Landing is now a Wingate by Wyndham (formerly a Hampton Inn), and 6921 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd trades as a Clarion. Older listings under the previous brands are still circulating.
Rideshare from BWI-area hotels
Typically $25-40 each way, 15-25 minutes via I-95 or I-695; higher on embarkation mornings. Worth pricing against a paid hotel transfer — the Clarion's $20 per room undercuts it, but its last departure is 4pm.
Terminal access
I-95 exit 55 (Key Highway / McComas St). The terminal is at 2001 E McComas St, south of Federal Hill.

Prices and schedules change. Treat figures as ranges and check before booking.

5What to avoid

  • Booking an Inner Harbor hotel because it's 'near the port' and then discovering parking is $30-50 a night and they won't keep the car past check-out.
  • Assuming 'free parking' on a listing means cruise parking. Unless a cruise package is named and priced for the cruise length, it's overnight parking only.
  • A car-holding hotel with no shuttle. Two $30-40 rideshares turn a $100 parking saving into $20.
  • Leaving the car in the hotel lot past the days you paid for — extension rates are penalty rates and some hotels tow.

6Book

Use the rate links on each hotel above. If a hotel's value depends on a named package (park & cruise, shuttle), confirm the package with the hotel before you pay — packages are usually direct-booking rate codes, not OTA rooms.
