The trap is the opposite of most cities — not a desk that closes at 11, but a Strip check-in queue that can still be 30 minutes long at 1am on a Friday, a resort fee you did not budget for, and a limited-service chain hotel near the airport whose 'airport shuttle' has stopped for the night.
