Your flight lands at Harry Reid at 8am, or you drove through the night from LA, and check-in is at 3pm (4pm at several Strip resorts). Las Vegas is unusual in two ways that help: every casino hotel has a 24-hour front desk, and most of the big Strip operators openly sell early check-in as a paid add-on — historically around $20-40 at MGM and Caesars properties, priced at booking or at the desk, and never guaranteed below noon. Off the Strip, the locals' casinos and extended-stay hotels have lower midweek occupancy and a staffed desk, so a room is often simply ready if you ask nicely on a Tuesday. What you need is a plan: a hotel where an early room is plausible, a fallback for your bags, and a clear idea of what the add-on costs so you do not pay for an extra night by accident.

A 24-hour desk and a property that sells or routinely grants early check-in
Casino hotels are staffed around the clock and have thousands of rooms turning over, so a clean room at 10am is a matter of housekeeping sequence, not policy. MGM and Caesars resorts sell early check-in as an add-on; locals' casinos and extended-stays usually just say yes midweek. Ask at booking either way.
Midweek arrival, or very low expectations on weekends
Sunday-Thursday occupancy is lower and Saturday checkouts have cleared; Friday and Saturday mornings the hotel is full and nobody is leaving before 11am. A Friday 9am early check-in on the Strip is a gamble even with the paid add-on.
A bell desk or luggage storage as the fallback
Every casino hotel will hold bags for free or a small tip. Check in, drop the bags, go eat, and come back when the room text arrives. Limited-service hotels may not have storage — ask.
A price for the add-on, before you arrive
Guaranteed early check-in is a paid add-on or a loyalty-tier perk, not a courtesy. Know the number, and compare it with simply booking the previous night at a cheap off-Strip hotel if you land before 6am.

If you land before 6am, a $65-95 off-Strip room booked for the previous night is often cheaper and more certain than paying for early check-in plus a day spent waiting in the casino.
Resort fees
The number that decides everything in Las Vegas. As of 2026 **every major Strip hotel charges one**, from about **$39 to $62 a night including tax** — roughly $40-55 before the 13.38% room tax. The average across about ninety Las Vegas hotels is **$42.36 before tax, up 6% in twelve months** from $39.90. The top tier — Wynn, Bellagio, Aria, Caesars Palace, Cosmopolitan, Venetian, Resorts World, Fontainebleau — sits at $55 before tax, about $62.36 with it. **The Four Seasons is the only notable Strip property with no resort fee at all.** None of the extended-stay or off-Strip chain hotels on our shortlists charge one. Confirm the current figure before booking — it is never in the headline rate.
