Long Beach hotels with a shuttle to the cruise terminal

1The situation
Most Long Beach cruisers fly in, and the airport decision is the whole shuttle story. Fly into Long Beach Airport (LGB) and the terminal is a 15-20 minute, $20-30 ride. Fly into LAX and you're 25 miles and 45-90 minutes away; no hotel shuttle covers that, so you're booking a rideshare or a shared airport shuttle either way. Once you're in Long Beach the picture is simple: the Queensway Bay hotels are close enough to walk — the Queen Mary is docked beside the terminal and The Maya and the Residence Inn are both roughly a 15-18 minute walk along Queensway Drive — and The Maya is the one property here that runs a genuine complimentary terminal shuttle for cruise guests. The airport-corridor hotels are 10-11 miles away, and their free shuttles are airport shuttles: the Long Beach Marriott's runs only within a three-mile radius, and the Courtyard does not serve the port at all. Assume a rideshare unless the hotel says otherwise in writing.
2What you actually need
LGB or LAX, decided before the hotel
LGB is a small airport with limited routes (Southwest dominates), but if it works for your origin city it saves an hour each way and $40-80 in transfers. Check LGB fares first; the hotel choice follows the airport.
Shuttle departure times that fit your Carnival arrival window
Carnival assigns staggered check-in windows. A shuttle with one fixed departure either leaves you outside the terminal for two hours or misses your slot entirely. Get the departure time in writing at booking.
Capacity and luggage room
Airport-corridor hotel shuttles are usually 10-14 seat vans that also serve the airport. On a Saturday with a 4,000-passenger ship in port, the cruise run fills. Reserve per cabin, not per hope.
Return pickup, or a plan for one
Many shuttles are outbound only. If your car is at the hotel, confirm the return pickup point and whether you need to call on disembarkation morning.
3The shortlist5 hotels, cheapest first
Each hotel is here because it meets the requirements above — not because of its star rating. Prices are nightly rates before tax for the default dates; volatile facts (shuttles, parking terms) are stated as what to confirm, not as promises.

3-star

Transport to and from the cruise port is part of the Park Stay & Go package rather than a service open to any guest, and the terminal is 11 miles away — further than the file's old figure suggested. Seats are limited and departures are scheduled per ship, so get your time in writing when you book the package.

1.8 mi from Long Beach Cruise Terminal · 200 S Pine Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802
4-star
8.7/10130
No terminal shuttle — guests report taking taxis, and the hotel does not run one. The rideshare over the Queensway Bridge is short and cheap at $10-15. Worth knowing: the hotel's indoor garage is resold as Long Beach cruise parking from about $17 a day, under the terminal's $23, so it can be a park-here-and-ride option even if you sleep elsewhere.
Parking
Paid self and valet; the hotel does not publish a simple nightly rate — confirm directly. The indoor garage is separately resold as cruise parking from about $17 a day.
Shuttle
No terminal shuttle; plan on a $10-15 rideshare.

The Queen Mary is docked directly beside the terminal — 'minimal walking', and it includes complimentary luggage service with its Stay & Cruise package. The Maya and the Residence Inn on Queensway Drive are about a 15-18 minute walk (roughly 0.7-0.9 miles); The Maya also runs a free shuttle for cruise guests, scheduled with the front desk on arrival. Confirm times directly.
Downtown / Pine Avenue to terminal
1.5-2 miles over the Queensway Bridge; a 5-10 minute, $10-15 rideshare. No downtown hotel runs a terminal shuttle — the Hyatt Regency has none and guests report taking taxis — though the Hyatt's indoor garage is resold as cruise parking from about $17 a day. Walkable in 30-40 minutes travelling light, but the bridge sidewalk is exposed.
Long Beach Airport (LGB) to terminal
About 8 miles from the airport itself, 15-20 minutes; rideshare typically $20-30. Note the airport-corridor hotels are further out than the airport — Holiday Inn Long Beach Airport is about 11 miles from the terminal — so budget 20-30 minutes and $20-35 from there.
LAX to terminal
About 25 miles; 45 minutes with no traffic, 90 minutes or more at peak. Rideshare $60-100; shared shuttle services also run. No hotel shuttle covers this leg.
Prices and schedules change. Treat figures as ranges and check before booking.
5What to avoid
⚠️Booking an 'LAX area' hotel for a Long Beach cruise because it's cheaper. You'll pay the saving back in a $60-100 transfer and an hour of the 405.
⚠️Relying on a hotel shuttle without a written departure time. If the confirmation email doesn't name it, you don't have a shuttle.
⚠️Hotels near the San Pedro World Cruise Center advertising 'cruise shuttle' — confirm the shuttle goes to the Long Beach terminal, not just San Pedro.
⚠️Counting on a rideshare from the airport corridor at noon on a Saturday without a backup. Surge plus a 20-minute wait is normal.

Use the rate links on each hotel above. If a hotel's value depends on a named package (park & cruise, shuttle), confirm the package with the hotel before you pay — packages are usually direct-booking rate codes, not OTA rooms.
