Fort Lauderdale hotels with a shuttle to Port Everglades

Verification pending — confirm directly with the hotel

1The situation

Most Port Everglades cruisers fly into FLL, and the airport is so close to the port that the cruise lines' own transfers are a 10-minute bus ride. The hotel shuttle matters because you arrived the night before and need the morning leg. Here is the thing the listings hide: at this port the port run is almost always **charged per person**, and the range is wide — $9 a head at the Hyatt Place, $10 at the Cambria, about $10 at the Four Points, and $20 at the Hilton Garden Inn, which also runs only three pickups a day. Even the airport leg is not always free: the Embassy Suites charges $12 a person and runs 6am-10pm. For two people a $20-a-head transfer costs more than a rideshare. Do the sum per party, not per room.

2What you actually need

  1. A port run that matches your line's arrival window

Embarkation windows are usually 11am-3pm. Several hotels run the port shuttle in a morning block and then switch back to airport-only. If the last port run leaves before your window opens, you wait at the terminal with your bags.

  2. Whether the port shuttle is free, paid, or package-only

The airport leg is usually free. The port leg is often a per-person charge or bundled into a cruise package. A $10-per-head shuttle for four people is the same as a rideshare.

  3. Capacity on multi-ship Saturdays and Sundays

Port Everglades can turn five or more ships on a winter weekend. Hotel vans fill. Reserve the shuttle at booking, in writing, with the departure time and the number of people.

  4. Which terminal it drops at

The port is big. A shuttle that drops at Terminal 2 when you sail from Terminal 18 leaves you a mile-plus away. Tell the hotel your ship and line when you reserve.

3The shortlist4 hotels, cheapest first

Each hotel is here because it meets the requirements above — not because of its star rating. Prices are nightly rates before tax for the default dates; volatile facts (shuttles, parking terms) are stated as what to confirm, not as promises.

Runs an airport shuttle at $12 per person, 6am-10pm, and a cruise terminal shuttle **for a surcharge it does not publish**. Ask for the port fare per person and the departure time; for two people a rideshare at $10-20 for the car may well be cheaper.

4Practical logistics

FLL to Port Everglades
About 2-3 miles; 10 minutes without traffic. Taxis from the airport to the port are short and cheap; the cruise lines' own transfers are usually not worth it for a party of two.
Rideshare backup from 17th Street / Dania Beach hotels
Typically $10-20, 5-10 minutes. Surge is common from mid-morning on embarkation days. Worth pricing against the hotel shuttle: at $20 per person each way, a couple pays more for the shuttle than for a car.
Walkable hotels
None are truly walkable to the terminals — the port is a secured area with a vehicle entrance. The 17th Street hotels are the closest at 1-2 miles, but plan a ride with luggage.
Hollywood / Dania Beach hotels
3-5 miles south on US-1 or I-95; 10-15 minutes. The shuttle matters more here because the rideshare is longer.

Prices and schedules change. Treat figures as ranges and check before booking.

5What to avoid

  • Trusting the phrase 'airport/cruise port shuttle' without asking which one runs when. At many hotels the port leg is a paid, scheduled service and the airport leg is the free one.
  • Booking a shuttle hotel for a family of five and assuming you'll all fit on the same run with six suitcases. Ask about luggage capacity.
  • Relying on a hotel shuttle alone on a five-ship weekend in February without a rideshare plan B. Surge pricing is annoying; missing the ship is worse.

6Book

Use the rate links on each hotel above. If a hotel's value depends on a named package (park & cruise, shuttle), confirm the package with the hotel before you pay — packages are usually direct-booking rate codes, not OTA rooms.
