Hotels near Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center for visiting families

1The situation
Someone you love is in Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center on Maryland Parkway — the big private cardiac, stroke and trauma hospital 1.5 miles east of the Strip — and you need a bed nearby for an open-ended number of nights. The obvious move is a Strip resort, and it is the wrong one: a $35 headline rate becomes $75-100 once the resort fee lands (they run $39-62 a night including tax in 2026), self-parking is $20-25 a day at most Caesars and MGM properties, and the walk from a Strip tower to your car can be 15 minutes on its own. **The hospital's own parking is the one thing Vegas gets right — there is general parking and valet on campus, and Sunrise offers complimentary valet at the front main entrance and at the diagnostic building.** What you actually need is a room 5-10 minutes away by car on Paradise Road, Flamingo Road or Hughes Center Drive with free parking, no resort fee, a desk staffed at 2am, a fridge for leftovers and medication, and a rate that does not punish you for not knowing how long you are staying. The extended-stay and suite hotels between the hospital and the Strip have exactly that for $65-130 a night all-in, and a couple of off-Strip casinos with honest pricing round it out.
2What you actually need
Minutes door-to-door at any hour, not 'walking distance'
Maryland Parkway around the hospital is clinics, fast food and strip malls, not hotels. The Paradise Road / Flamingo Road corridor a mile west is a 5-10 minute drive to the Sunrise visitor entrance at 3am and 10-15 minutes at 5pm. The Strip is the same distance in minutes but twice the price.
A genuinely 24-hour front desk
Hospital days end at midnight and start at 5am. Casino hotels are staffed around the clock by definition; the extended-stay brands usually are too but confirm it, because a few limited-service properties close the desk overnight and rely on a phone.
Free parking and no resort fee
A Strip resort adds $35-55 resort fee and $15-25 parking to a $35 room — $400-600 over a week that buys you nothing when you are at the hospital all day. Every hotel on this list parks free; the two casino properties charge a resort fee that we have already included in the real price.
A fridge and microwave in the room
You will bring food back from the hospital cafeteria or the Flamingo Road restaurants, and some medications need refrigeration. Extended-stay rooms have a full fridge; most Strip standard rooms have a locked minibar or nothing. Ask for a room with a fridge when you book.
Week-rate flexibility and the hospital's own hotel list
Many hospitals keep a list of nearby hotels that offer a discounted 'medical rate' for patients' families. Ask Sunrise's patient services, case management or social work team before booking — do not assume any specific hotel or rate. Also ask the hotel whether you can extend night by night without re-booking at a higher price, which matters in Las Vegas where weekend and convention rates can double midweek pricing.
3The shortlist3 hotels, cheapest first
Each hotel is here because it meets the requirements above — not because of its star rating. Prices are nightly rates before tax for the default dates; volatile facts (shuttles, parking terms) are stated as what to confirm, not as promises.

About 1.5 miles and 5-8 minutes from Sunrise on East Flamingo, with free parking, a 24-hour casino desk and a suite with a real fridge, microwave and sink; the resort fee is already in our real price. One caveat the free parking hides: Tuscany does charge a resort fee, and it is collected with the first night at the time of booking — it covers parking, the pools, local calls, in-room coffee and safe, and internet. Ask for the current figure and add it before comparing with the extended-stay hotels nearby, which charge none at all.

3186 S Maryland Pkwy, between Desert Inn Road and Sahara Avenue, about 1.5 miles east of the centre Strip. Sunrise Children's Hospital is on the same campus. **General parking and valet are available on campus, and the hospital offers complimentary valet at the front main entrance and at the diagnostic building** — so unlike most big-city hospitals this is not a cost to plan around. Confirm at the information desk, along with visiting hours for the unit you need; the main switchboard is (702) 961-5000.
Drive time from the Paradise/Flamingo corridor
5-10 minutes outside rush hour from Paradise Road, Hughes Center Drive or East Flamingo; 10-15 minutes in the evening peak. From the south Strip and Dean Martin Drive allow 15-20 minutes; from Blue Diamond Road and South Point 20-25 minutes.
Medical rates
Ask the hospital's patient services or social work team whether they keep a list of partner hotels. Rates and participating hotels change; confirm directly with the hotel and mention the hospital when you book.
Food near the hospital
Maryland Parkway has drive-throughs and a few sit-down chains within a mile; the Flamingo/Paradise corridor has 24-hour casino cafes (Ellis Island, Tuscany) and grocery stores on Flamingo and Paradise within 1-2 miles of every hotel below.
Event weeks
CES (January), major fights and the F1 weekend (November) double or triple Strip rates and pull the Paradise Road hotels up with them. If your stay overlaps, book as early as you can and ask the hotel to hold the rate if you extend.
Resort fees and Strip parking, if you are tempted
The number that decides everything in Las Vegas. As of 2026 **every major Strip hotel charges one**, from about **$39 to $62 a night including tax** — roughly $40-55 before the 13.38% room tax. The average across about ninety Las Vegas hotels is **$42.36 before tax, up 6% in twelve months** from $39.90. The top tier — Wynn, Bellagio, Aria, Caesars Palace, Cosmopolitan, Venetian, Resorts World, Fontainebleau — sits at $55 before tax, about $62.36 with it. **The Four Seasons is the only notable Strip property with no resort fee at all.** None of the extended-stay or off-Strip chain hotels on our shortlists charge one. Confirm the current figure before booking — it is never in the headline rate. Strip self-parking on top runs $20-25 a day at MGM and Caesars properties. Over a fortnight beside a hospital bed that is $800-1,200 in fees before you have paid for a single night's room.
Prices and schedules change. Treat figures as ranges and check before booking.
5What to avoid
⚠️Booking a Strip resort because it looks 10 minutes away. It is, but the $35 headline rate is $80-110 with the resort fee, parking is $15-25 a day, and the walk from the garage to the tower adds 15 minutes to every hospital trip.
⚠️Booking one night at a time on a booking site. Vegas rates swing 2-3x between Tuesday and Saturday; if you know you will be here a week, call the hotel, ask for a weekly or medical rate and whether you can extend without re-booking.
⚠️Any week that overlaps CES, a major fight, EDC or the F1 weekend without checking the rate first. Off-Strip extended-stay hotels hold up better than the Strip but still move.
⚠️Assuming the front desk is staffed overnight at a limited-service hotel. Confirm 24-hour staffing before you book if you will be coming and going at odd hours.
⚠️Relying on a 'kitchenette' for a long stay without asking what it means — at Tuscany it is a real fridge and microwave; at a Strip tower it is often a locked minibar.
6Book
Use the rate links on each hotel above. If a hotel's value depends on a named package (park & cruise, shuttle), confirm the package with the hotel before you pay — packages are usually direct-booking rate codes, not OTA rooms.
