Seattle hotels with a shuttle to the cruise terminal (Pier 66 or Pier 91)

Verification pending — confirm directly with the hotel

1The situation

Most Alaska cruisers fly into SeaTac and don't have a car, so the question is how to get from the hotel to the ship — and the answer depends entirely on which pier. Pier 66 is on the downtown waterfront and several Belltown and waterfront hotels are a 5-15 minute walk. Pier 91 is in Interbay with no hotels of its own. From the SeaTac hotels, the thing to understand is that the 'cruise shuttle' is almost never a hotel van: **Seattle Express is the only shared-shuttle operator running scheduled service from SeaTac-area hotels to Piers 66 and 91**, serving over 45 hotels with five departures between 9:00am and 12:15pm — for Pier 91 the times are 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00. All three SeaTac hotels on our shortlist are listed as its cruise partner hotels. Book it yourself, and note that if your check-in window is late afternoon, the last departure has already gone.

2What you actually need

  1. A shuttle that serves your pier, not 'the cruise terminal'

Hotels near Pier 66 (Belltown, waterfront) mostly don't run shuttles because you can walk. Shuttles from Queen Anne, downtown and SeaTac hotels may serve Pier 91 only, Pier 66 only, or both on different schedules. Ask by pier name.

  2. Departure times that match your cruise line's arrival window

Embarkation windows are set by the line, typically late morning to mid-afternoon. Pier 91 on a multi-ship Saturday handles thousands of passengers; a shuttle that leaves at one fixed time may put you in a long line or miss your window. Get the time in writing.

  3. Whether it is included, reserved per cabin, or first-come

Hotel vans seat 10-14. On a summer Saturday with two or three ships sailing, the first run fills. Reserve at booking and confirm again at check-in.

  4. A rideshare plan B and its real price

From Belltown or Queen Anne to Pier 91 a rideshare is roughly $15-30; from SeaTac it is $45-70. Know the number before you decide that a shuttle hotel is worth a premium.

3The shortlist6 hotels, cheapest first

Each hotel is here because it meets the requirements above — not because of its star rating. Prices are nightly rates before tax for the default dates; volatile facts (shuttles, parking terms) are stated as what to confirm, not as promises.

4Practical logistics

Pier 66 (Bell Street) — walkable hotels
Waterfront and Belltown hotels are roughly 0.2-0.8 miles away. Rolling luggage on the Alaskan Way path is easy; from Belltown there is an elevator/stair descent to the waterfront at Bell Street.
Pier 91 (Smith Cove) — no walkable hotels
About 3 miles from Belltown and 2-3 miles from Queen Anne hotels; 10-20 minutes by car normally, longer on embarkation mornings. Rideshare roughly $15-30.
SeaTac airport to the piers
About 15-18 miles; 30-60 minutes. Cruise lines sell airport-to-pier transfers, and Seattle Express runs a scheduled shared shuttle from the airport and from over 45 SeaTac hotels — five departures between 9:00am and 12:15pm, with Pier 91 runs at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 and 12:00. Private transfers run roughly $75-130 for the car. Hotel airport shuttles do not go to the piers.
Light rail
Link light rail runs SeaTac to downtown (Westlake) in about 40 minutes for a few dollars; from Westlake it is a 15-minute walk or a short rideshare to Pier 66. It does not serve Pier 91.
Which pier does your ship use?
Get this right before you book a hotel. **Pier 91 (Smith Cove)** is homeport for Carnival, Celebrity, Holland America, MSC, Princess, Royal Caribbean and Virgin Voyages — most of the 2026 fleet. **Pier 66 (Bell Street)** is used by Norwegian and Oceania, and most Cunard Queen Elizabeth calls. They are three miles apart and only Pier 66 is walkable from downtown hotels. A new elevated walkway at Pier 66 is expected during 2026, and shore power becomes mandatory for all Seattle-homeported ships from 2027.

Prices and schedules change. Treat figures as ranges and check before booking.

5What to avoid

  • Booking a 'shuttle hotel' without a written pier and departure time. If the confirmation email doesn't name Pier 66 or Pier 91 and a time, you don't have a shuttle.
  • Assuming a SeaTac hotel's airport shuttle will take you to the ship. Those loop to the airport terminal only; the cruise run is a separate, usually seasonal, product.
  • Relying on a single fixed shuttle time on a three-ship Saturday with no rideshare fallback — Pier 91 access roads gridlock.
  • Downtown hotels marketed as 'steps from the cruise terminal' when they mean Pier 66 and you sail from Pier 91.

6Book

Use the rate links on each hotel above. If a hotel's value depends on a named package (park & cruise, shuttle), confirm the package with the hotel before you pay — packages are usually direct-booking rate codes, not OTA rooms.
